MF anaesthetist supports Mukinge

Dr Hilary Edgecombe, a consultant anaesthetist from Oxford UK, has come to Zambia to work as a volunteer anaesthetist for Mercy Flyers.  She has been flown out to Mukinge Mission hospital where she is now providing a desperately needed anaesthetic service as their anaesthetist has gone on furlough. She will be there for 3 weeks.  Not only do we provide short term specialist care through our outreach programme but here we have been able to provide a slightly longer term specialist service to a hospital who desperately needed our help.  Craig spent 2 days with her in Mukinge doing some surgical lists together to ensure she was happy with all the equipment and procedures and settled in at the mission.  Although working full-time at Mukinge she will remain a MF staff member and as such will be working under our administrative and clinical oversight.
