Mercy Flyer's Aircraft

The Cessna Caravan has proven itself to be one of the most reliable, versatile and cost-effective airplanes ever built. The Cessna Caravan is an unpressurized single-engine high wing turboprop with fixed landing gear. Because of it's low operating cost, large useful load, and 99.8% dispatch reliability rate, the Caravan is ideally suited to flying doctor services.

It is becoming increasingly unlikely that the usual fuel we use for our aircraft (AVGAS) will be readily available in a few years time as most refiners are moving away from producing it.  As this aircraft runs on JET fuel, it will continue to serve us as Jet fuel will always be available.

Mercy Flyers has this beautiful reconditioned aircraft in the pipeline compliments of ‘Wings of Hope’ in the USA. This aircraft is ideal for all our needs and will serve us well for the next 25 years or more. It carries 3,400 lbs of equipment, or 10 passengers, or 3 stretcher patients with 2 medical crew. This aircraft has strong undercarriage designed for the rough airstrips we routinely encounter in Zambia.
