Special Report - Flyspec
FLYSPEC is an established Orthopaedic and Plastic surgery outreach service in Zambia. They are a branch of the Lusaka Orthopaedic Research & Education (LORET) Trust. The organisation was founded by Prof John Jellis 30 years ago, and he has been operating in the rural hospitals of Zambia ever since.

He was joined by Dr Goran Jovic (Plastic surgeon) 15 years ago and together they have been providing an extremely important reconstructive surgery program to thousands of disabled patients over the years. Dr Giorgio Lastroni and Dr Ilho Moyo have been assisting them this year.

It is an honour for Mercy Flyers to work with them on select outreaches where they have received our support in aviation and anaesthetic matters. FLYSPEC have covered all the expenses of these combined outreaches through their generous donors to whom we are very grateful. Many might have seen the BBC TV program documenting their wonderful work.
