3,000 km for £3,000

Mercy Flyers is a charity that provides medical services to the Zambian population. Anaesthetic care is made difficult by the absence of proper monitors to deliver a high level service. Portable robust anaesthetic monitors can enable a trained anaesthetist such as Craig to closely monitor his patients and help add to the excellent care. Such monitors are very expensive (approximately £10000).

A group of intrepid Welsh women and men will ride 300 km each over the course of a weekend (March 26/27). We will ride from Cardiff to Pontrhydfendigaid over a very hilly route - the profiles can be seen below. As a group we intend to ride a total of at least 3000km and raise a pound a kilometre. The plan is to raise £3000 to part cover the cost of the monitor. The Association of Anaesthetists is also contributing £5000. A map of the challenging route can also be seen below.
